FARRINGDON WARD CLUB

Farringdon Ward Club, established in 1894, is one of the twenty-two Clubs which are directly associated with the twenty-five Wards of the City of London About us - City of London. Uniquely it embraces two clubs, Farringdon Within, and Farringdon Without and forms the largest of the 25 Wards in London.

Whilst Farringdon Within encompasses the eastern side of Farringdon without. The Western side of Farringdon Without is connected overground to it’s Eastern side at Holborn Circus. Underground, the Elizabeth line connects the two sides of the ward together.

The Club promotes interest in the Wards and provides support to its 2 Aldermen, 3 Deputies and 14 Common Councillors and encourages firms and people living and working within the two wards to attend its varied programme of both formal and social functions and events.

Farringdon Without and Farringdon Within, both shaped by hundreds of years of History, are unconnected to the Farringdon area to the north, outside the City, in the London Borough of Islington. The area is sometimes referred to as Farringdon due to the presence of Farringdon Station which was named after Farringdon Street and originally named Farringdon Street Station, however, the two form the Farringdon Connection…

Farringdon Together comprises, apart from the homes of over 1200 residents, the famous Temple area, surrounding Temple Church (one of the main legal districts in London) Home | Middle Temple, Inner Temple, the Fleet Street Quarter Fleet Street Quarter | A thriving and dynamic centre for economic growth in London and Smithfields Market, Colleges, Churches, notable listed buildings, various small businesses, head offices, retail outlets and hospitality outlets, all of which create a vibrant and thriving community.
