MONTHLY NETWORKING DRINKS

Our successful monthly network nights in conjunction with the Fleet Street Quarter BID continue with another meeting at

The Rising Sun, Carter Lane, EC4V 5DY

14th April 2026 6 pm – SPEAKER AT 6.30pm

Where we will have exclusive use of the first-floor bar

Our guest speaker will be

PETER CLIFFE

Peter is a long-standing member of the FWC who spent over 35 years running pub restaurants in Central London, both in the City and the West End. But his happiest, and most challenging time was at The Red Lion at the top of Whitehall, often called the Prime Ministers local as this is the nearest hostelry to Number 10.  He spent 11 years there and dealt with everything from state visits, the Olympics, a royal wedding and Thatcher’s funeral. Not to mention protesters, the London marathon and (his favourite) Remembrance Sunday – The Red Lion is almost adjacent to the cenotaph and inside the security cordon for the day’s events!

Alongside this he served as a sitting magistrate for Westminster for over a decade, hearing cases at several central London Magistrate’s Courts (including Bow Street before it closed) and appeals at Southwark and the Old Bailey. He now holds the food franchise at the Club for Acts and Actors where we will be holding our AGM later in the month and will be the subject of our first Meet the Corporate Members in May.

There will be no charge for these events, just use the bar and do bring friends!

An opportunity to unwind, natter with friends old and new.

Do you have a Club tie or badge yet? The President, who is also our Quartermaster, always has some with him!  Ward Club Ties £15. Ward Club Badges £15 CASH PLEASE.
